Susan says Love is never subtle, and I agree
what I love is the state of being in love,
(and I love you, too)
It surprises me every time
that I can even make it back to that place:
the state of being in love.
a state with undefined border, but I always know when I’m there, the cities here sparkle and shine, even underneath a layer of sweat and filth, glittering sidewalks and mass transportation where to catch the eye of a stranger, and smile, changes the whole day. ride the train out past the end of the line and you find an abandoned amusement park full of possibility and places to make out with a view of the ocean. I could drown in that ocean for the love of it all. The storms in this state will keep you up all night and the ethic is open. My open arms, my open heart. I often get lost on my way here - caught in the traffic of desire, confused. There is no map to this state. I find my way by feeling.
